The Bull Run

Effective date: October 21, 2026

Privacy Policy

GoldenGem Creations ("we", "our" or "us"), ABN 85 072 632 232, Queensland, Australia, makes The Bull Run for Android and iPhone. This policy explains what information the game handles, where it goes and the choices you have. In short: your game stays on your phone, and we never sell, rent or trade your personal information.

The short version

  • There is no account and no sign-in. Your saved games and settings are stored only on your phone.
  • To improve the game, it sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports through Google's Firebase. They never include names you type, and you can turn them off in Settings.
  • Ads appear only when you choose to watch one for an in-game reward. They are served by Google AdMob, which collects device information as described below.
  • Optional purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store, with our partner RevenueCat keeping track of what you've bought.

1. Information stored on your phone

  • Saved games: your dynasty, portfolio, family, history and records (Hall of Fame and achievements), and today's Daily Challenge. They are stored in the app's private storage on your phone and are never sent to us.
  • Settings: sound, music, vibration, text size, game speed and similar preferences, also stored only on your phone.
  • Device backups: if your phone backs up app data (Android's backup to your Google account, or an iPhone backup to iCloud or a computer), your saved games may be included in that backup. Those backups are made and controlled by Google or Apple under your account, not by us.

2. Information collected by our service providers

A. Advertising (only when you choose to watch an ad)

The Bull Run offers optional rewarded ads, for example an "angel investor" who tops up your cash. We never show ads you didn't ask for. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect:

  • your device's advertising identifier (Android's advertising ID, or Apple's IDFA if you allow tracking), IP address, device model, operating system and app version;
  • information about the ads you view and interact with, used to deliver, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud.

Consent: where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the game asks for your consent through Google's consent message before ads are requested. On iPhone, Apple asks whether you allow tracking; the game works the same whatever you choose, and without permission ads are not personalised using your IDFA.

B. Optional purchases

If you choose to buy an optional upgrade (such as "Remove ads"), the payment is handled by Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone. We never see or store your payment card details. Our partner RevenueCat receives the purchase record and a random identifier for your installation of the app, so the game can unlock what you bought and restore it if you reinstall. Purchases are never required to play.

C. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the game can remind you at 7pm to finish a Daily Challenge you've started. The reminder is scheduled on your phone; no notification service or token is used, and nothing is sent to us. You can turn the reminder off in the game's Settings, or turn off notifications for The Bull Run in your phone's settings.

D. Usage statistics and crash reports

To see how The Bull Run is played and to fix problems, the game sends anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics). Both are on by default, except in the European Union, the rest of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, where nothing is sent unless you agree. You can turn either off at any time in the game's Settings.

  • Usage statistics: how the game is played, recorded as short fixed codes, for example which mode and starting year you chose, how far a game got, the ranks and achievements reached, which screens and features are used, and whether you chose to watch an ad or bought an upgrade.
  • App and device details that Firebase collects automatically: a random ID for this installation of the app, app version, phone model, Android or iOS version, language, approximate country (worked out from your IP address, which Google Analytics doesn't store), and when and for how long the game is played.
  • Crash reports: the type of error and where in our code it happened (a stack trace), the screen that was open, the app version, phone model, operating system version and the phone's state (such as free memory).

What's never sent: names you type (your characters and dynasties) or anything else you type. No account or user ID is attached, and the usage statistics don't use your advertising ID, so they aren't linked to you or to the ads you see. We use them only in aggregate, to make the game better.

E. Support requests

If you contact us through our website or by email, we receive what you send (usually your name, email address and message) and use it only to help you. We keep it in our support records for as long as needed to resolve your request.

3. How we use information

  • To run the game on your phone (all of which happens on your phone).
  • To improve the game and fix bugs, using anonymous usage statistics and crash reports.
  • To provide the rewarded ads you choose to watch, through Google AdMob.
  • To unlock and restore purchases, through Google Play, the App Store and RevenueCat.
  • To answer support requests.

We do not sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising of our own.

5. Your choices and deleting your data

  • Saved games: start a new game or abandon one from the game's menu, or delete everything by uninstalling The Bull Run or clearing its storage (Android: Settings › Apps › The Bull Run › Storage › Clear storage). See Your data.
  • Usage statistics and crash reports: turn either off in the game's Settings. Google deletes detailed usage data after at most 14 months, keeping only overall totals, and crash reports after 90 days.
  • Personalised ads: on Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings › Privacy › Ads. On iPhone, turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
  • Purchases: purchase records are kept by Google or Apple as part of your account's purchase history, and by RevenueCat for as long as needed to restore your purchases. To ask RevenueCat to delete its record, contact us with the approximate date of your purchase.
  • Refunds: handled by Google Play or the App Store under their refund policies. Contact us if you need help.

6. Children's privacy

The Bull Run is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

Saved games are kept in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read. Information exchanged with Google, Firebase, Apple and RevenueCat is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the game changes or the law requires. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the game's release notes.
