Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use The Bull Run for Android or iPhone, made by GoldenGem Creations (ABN 85 072 632 232), Queensland, Australia.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Bull Run (the "Game"). By downloading, accessing or playing the Game, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game. The terms of Google Play or the App Store, whichever you downloaded the Game from, also apply.

2. A game, not financial advice

The Bull Run is entertainment. Its markets, prices, companies and outcomes are simulated. Nothing in the Game is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and how a strategy performs in the Game says nothing about how it would perform with real money. Please don't make real financial decisions based on it.

  • Fictional companies: the companies in the Game are fictional parodies inspired by history. Their names, prices and stories are invented, and they are not affiliated with or endorsed by any real company.
  • History, retold: historical events are simplified and may happen at different times, or not at all, and the future the Game imagines is fiction. Depictions of the past, including its laws and social customs, are there to tell the story of their time and do not reflect our views.
  • No real money in play: in-game money, shares and wealth have no real-world value and cannot be withdrawn, exchanged or transferred.

3. Using the Game

Licence

GoldenGem Creations grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment.

Age

The Game is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Saved games

The Game has no accounts. Your saved games are stored only on your device, so uninstalling the Game or clearing its storage deletes them, and we cannot recover them. They may be included in your device's own backups, which Google or Apple provide. We may reset saved games in test versions of the Game when its save format changes.

5. Optional purchases and advertising

Every mode of The Bull Run can be played for free without buying anything or watching an ad.

  • Rewarded ads: you may choose to watch an ad, served by Google AdMob, for an in-game reward such as extra cash. Ads are never shown without your choosing to watch one.
  • Optional upgrades: you may choose to buy permanent upgrades (such as "Remove ads"). Purchases are processed by Google Play or the App Store at the price shown there, with purchase records managed by our partner RevenueCat so they can be restored if you reinstall.
  • Payment and refunds: all billing and refunds are handled by Google Play or the App Store under their terms and refund policies. We do not process or store your payment details.
  • No real-world value: rewards and upgrades have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, goods or services, except as required by law.
  • Changes: we may change, rebalance or retire in-game rewards and features. If we remove a paid upgrade you bought, we will provide an equivalent or help you get a refund, as the law requires.

6. Things you agree not to do

  • Tampering: modifying, reverse-engineering or decompiling the Game, or extracting its code or content, except as the law allows.
  • Ad abuse: using automated systems or other software to inflate ad views or manipulate the Game's advertising or purchases.
  • Commercial use: reselling the Game, or using its content in your own products, without our written permission.

7. Intellectual property

All rights in the Game (including its code, text, characters, artwork, music, sounds and design) belong to GoldenGem Creations or its licensors. Fonts included in the Game are used under their own licences (the SIL Open Font License and the Apache License), which are listed in the Game under Settings › About. You may share screenshots and videos of your own play for non-commercial purposes.

8. Third-party services

The Game uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob and Google's consent tools, Google Play, the Apple App Store and RevenueCat. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. See our privacy policy for details.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoldenGem Creations disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

The Game comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees, or any other rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoldenGem Creations is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including loss of saved games, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Game, or from any decision you make based on it.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Queensland, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give at least 30 days' notice, for example in the Game's release notes, before it takes effect. By continuing to use the Game after that, you agree to the updated Terms.
